Deoxygenated Blood: What Happens After Oxygen Delivery?

After releasing its oxygen molecules to cells in the capillary beds, blood acquires the waste product carbon dioxide from those same cells and becomes deoxygenated. As deoxygenated blood returns from body to the heart through veins, it transports additional waste, such as urea, toward waste collecting sites.
