Apple Core Lesion: Medical Definition & Significance

Apple core refers to the cone-shaped lesion with surrounding fibrosis associated with bronchogenic carcinoma on a chest x-ray or CT scan. Typically there are multiple "nodules" which coalesce to form the "core" surrounded by fibrosis.
