ACLS Downtime: Understanding the Critical Time Window

ACLS stands for Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Down-time before ACLS refers to the period of time between when a patient goes into cardiac arrest and when ACLS is initiated. This time period is critical, as the chances of survival decrease with each passing minute. The goal is to minimize down-time by recognizing cardiac arrest early and initiating ACLS as soon as possible.
