Are steroids helpful for a hurt rotator cuff?
Corticosteroid injections may provide short-term relief of rotator cuff pain and/or improve shoulder range of motion, however they do not treat or reverse the underlying structural damage. As an option following rest, pain relievers, and/or physical therapy have failed after an appropriate trial.
A maximum of three injections are advised.
