Active FX Laser Resurfacing: Recovery & Results

Active FX is a skin resurfacing procedure. Technicians use lasers to burn off dead skin cells on the face, neck and/or chest. Some doctors claim the elimination of this layer of dead skin significantly reduces wrinkles, crow's feet and other skin blemishes that come with middle age. Recovery time varies depending on the resurfaced body part.

Time Frame

• According to Real Self, doctors report that one week of recovery time is enough for you to return to work. However, overall redness will not completely disappear for about a month.

Considerations

• Doctors point out that your face recovers a few days before your neck and chest after the procedure. These body parts require between 10 and 14 days to recover.

Experience

• According to Holly Hodder who had the Active FX procedure, full recovery requires constant applications of creams, lotions and facials. Doctors will also use abrasives to "sand" the dead skin off if it has not sloughed away after a week or so.
