Post-Hip ORIF: Essential Patient Assessments - 2 Days Post-Op
- Neurovascular assessments of the affected extremity to detect any changes in sensation, movement, or circulation- Pain assessment and management
- Surgical site assessment for signs of infection or dehiscence
- Vital signs, fluid intake, and nutrition
- Respiratory status to prevent atelectasis and pneumonia
- Risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE) and appropriate prophylaxis
- Early mobilization and physical therapy to promote joint movement, prevent stiffness and muscle atrophy, and promote ambulation
