Head-Tilt-Chin-Lift: Clearing an Airway Obstruction (Step 5)
Step five of the head-tilt-chin-lift maneuver is to inspect and clear the obstruction from the airway.
1. If there is a foreign object blocking the airway, attempt to remove it with a finger sweep.
2. Perform a two-handed thrust under the sternum using the Heimlich maneuver if you cannot clear the obstruction.
