Agnodice: The Pioneering Female Surgeon of Ancient Greece

The first female surgeon is believed to be Agnodice, who lived in ancient Greece in the 4th century BCE. She disguised herself as a man in order to study medicine and practice surgery, as women were not allowed to do so at the time.
