Operative Procedure:
The patient was brought to the operating room and placed in the supine position. After induction of general endotracheal anesthesia, the right lower extremity was prepped and draped in the usual sterile manner. A tourniquet was placed on the right thigh.
An incision was made over the ischemic ulcer on the flap right heel. The ulcer was debrided of all necrotic tissue and the wound bed was irrigated with sterile saline. The redundant skin surrounding the ulcer was excised.
The wound was closed primarily with interrupted 4-0 nylon sutures. A sterile dressing was applied.
The patient tolerated the procedure well and was transferred to the recovery room in stable condition.
