Popping Pimples: What Happens and Why It's Not Recommended
Popping a pimple can cause it to become bigger and more inflamed. This is because when you pop a pimple, you are essentially creating a wound in the skin. The body's natural response to a wound is to send blood and white blood cells to the area to help heal it. This influx of blood and white blood cells can cause the pimple to become red, swollen, and painful.
In addition, popping a pimple can also lead to the spread of bacteria. This can cause new pimples to form and can make the existing pimple worse.
For these reasons, it is best to avoid popping pimples. If you must pop a pimple, be sure to clean the area thoroughly with soap and water before and after. You can also apply a topical antibiotic to the area to help prevent infection.
