What is the right thoracic apex?
The right thoracic apex is the superior-most region of the right thoracic cavity. It is bounded by the first rib superiorly, the sternum anteriorly, and the thoracic vertebrae posteriorly. The right lung apex extends into this region and is covered by the pleura.
