Waterless Urinal Cleaning: A Simple Guide for Hygienic Maintenance
A waterless urinal is easier to clean than a traditional urinal, since it inhibits certain bacteria growth and smells. As a result, a waterless urinal takes only a simple, all-purpose cleaner to clean. Remember to protect yourself with protective gear when you are cleaning a waterless urinal, since germs are still present.Things You'll Need
- Rubber gloves
- Goggles
- All-purpose or neutral cleaner
- Johnny mop
- Water
- Soft sponge
- Clean cloths
Instructions
Put on gloves and goggles before handling the waterless urinal system.
Take any loose objects and debris out of the urinal.
Spray the urinal surface with a neutral or all-purpose cleaner. If you use a johnny mop, soak it with water and cleaner and scrub the surface of the urinal. The amount of cleaner you use depends on the cleaner instructions.
Let the cleaner sit on the waterless urinal if the cleaner instructs to do so.
Wipe the waterless urinal with a soft sponge or a johnny mop soaked in clean water.
Dry the surface with a clean cloth. Do not pour water down the urinal trap, since it may dislodge the sealant.
