Quit Smoking with E-Cigarettes: A Guide to Nicotine Cessation
If you have ever thought about quitting or have tried and failed, the electronic cigarette can help you lessen your nicotine cravings and quit smoking. E-Cigs are electronic smoking devices that use tar-free cartridges and provide the smoking experience without the cancer-causing agents, fire, carbon monoxide and odor. E-Cig pioneer manufacturer Smoking Everywhere produces odorless smoking agents with cartridges that last an equivalent to 20 traditional cigarettes. You must be at least 18 to purchase E-Cigs. Starter kits cost about $30 and up; a pack of five cartridges starts at $10 (as of January 2011).
Instructions
Buy an E-Cig system. Check local retailers, mall vendors or online at reputable resellers such as Amazon and eBay (see Resources). The E-Cig starter kit comes with a cigarette cartridge, cartridge batteries and replacement butt. You can also purchase different flavored liquids.
Charge the E-Cig's lithium battery. Connect the E-Cig cartridge to the butt. Your E-Cig will begin producing a steam-like substance that resembles smoke, but is merely vapor.
Seek support. Ask for support from your friends, family and E-Cig smokers online. Although E-Cig provides you with a smaller dose of nicotine than cigarettes, it is often difficult to quit smoking "cold turkey." Search online for e-smoker forums to help you obtain the support you need to stop smoking (see Resources).
