E-Cigarettes: A Guide for Smokers Seeking Alternatives
If you have tried and failed at quitting cigarettes using gum and patches, there are alternatives available. In 2006, manufacturers introduced the e-cigarette. This battery-powered device looks like a real cigarette. However, it emits water vapor instead of smoke. According to a 2011 study at Boston University by Michael Siegel, e-cigarettes allow smokers the satisfaction of a cigarette with far fewer toxins and harmful chemicals.Things You'll Need
- E-cigarette kit
- USB cord/charger
Instructions
Read your e-cigarette's manual carefully before attempting to use the product for the first time.
Assemble your e-cigarette by inserting the e-cartridge into the e-cigarette tube.
Charge your assembled e-cigarette by connecting the USB cord to your computer or to a charger. To fully charge, the e-cigarette will need three to four hours.
