- Protective wear (long sleeves and pants, goggles, shower cap, rubber gloves)
Instructions
Cleaning a Porta Potty
Separate the unit so that you have the top detached from the bottom. Set aside the top half.
Dump the waste from the bottom piece of the unit into a toilet. Pour slowly and keep the bucket as low to the toilet as possible to avoid any splashing.
Use hot water to rinse out the bucket unit of the porta potty.
Once the bucket has been rinsed out, use a scrub brush, sponge and disinfectant to clean all areas of the unit.
Rinse the unit again with hot water. If you wish, repeat the entire disinfecting process.
Set aside the bottom unit and clean the top unit as well, using the scrub brush, a new sponge and more disinfectant.
Once all parts have been cleaned and rinsed, set them aside to dry. Discard the sponges and scrub brush that you have used.
Reattach the bottom unit to the top unit. Your porta potty is now ready to be used again or stored for later use.
