What Is Intussusception?
Intussusception is a condition in which a part of the intestine slips into the section immediately below it, like the parts of a collapsible telescope stacking into one another.
Intussusception is common in children between 3 months and 6 years old. Children with cystic fibrosis or receiving steroid therapy are at higher risk. The incidence is highest in the spring and summer.
