Eco-Friendly Disposal Options for Your AeroBed
Whether your AeroBed lasted five years or five nights, there will come a time when you want to move on to other sleeping options. You don't have to throw it right into the dumpster, though. There are a few options that you can consider when you're ready to get rid of your AeroBed. Some options only work for beds that will stay inflated, so be sure that your AeroBed works before pursuing one of these. Remember that AeroBeds are made of vinyl, and, while they won't degrade in a landfill, they won't release any toxic chemicals either.
Instructions
Donate the air mattress to a woman's shelter or local organization that sponsors camping trips, like Boy Scouts. They can use the equipment and, if it isn't leaking, you'll be making someone's night more comfortable.
Drop the AeroBed off at a thrift store. They'll resell it, and, if you choose the right store, the profits could even go to charity.
Put the AeroBed in the trash and leave it out for the trash collectors. The vinyl construction won't let harmful chemicals leak into the earth, so it's OK to put it out with the rest of the trash.
