Training

The engineering process consists of learning the types of construction used to build and operation of various fire extinguishers. Another part of the hands-on training includes testing and inspection of the extinguishers with real fires.
Certification

The British Approval for Fire Equipment (BAFE) certificate requires a 3 ½ day extinguisher service and maintenance examination. However, for those just looking to update their already existing certification, a refresher course is available that only takes one day.
