CPR & BLS Certification: Do You Need Both?
No, you don't have to get CPR and BLS certification together. Both are important certifications, but they are separate and can be obtained separately.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification teaches you how to respond to medical emergencies, such as heart attacks, strokes, and foreign body obstructions.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification teaches you how to perform CPR, which is a lifesaving procedure used to keep a person alive until medical help arrives.
Some organizations require both CPR and BLS certification, while others only require one or the other. If you are not sure whether you need both certifications, it is best to check with the organization you are applying to.
