CPT Code 86900: Transcatheter PDA Closure - Definition & Coverage
86900 - Transcatheter closure of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) using coils, or occlusion devices.
This code includes the following:
- Insertion of a catheter into a blood vessel
- Delivery of a coil or other device to the PDA
- Deployment of the coil or device to occlude the PDA
This code does not include the following:
- Imaging guidance (use 76377 or 76378)
- Administration of anesthesia (use appropriate anesthesia code)
