Veterinary Paramedics: Emergency Care for Animals - Definition & Role
A veterinary paramedic is a person trained in emergency medical care for animals. Their role is similar to that of a human paramedic, but their patient base is restricted to animals. They provide immediate care to sick, injured, or trauma-affected pets and can assist in transporting animals to a veterinary hospital or clinic for further treatment. Veterinary paramedics are typically certified in animal life support (ALS), pet first aid, and small and large animal care and handling.CPR - Related Articles
