CPAP Mask & Humidifier Cleaning Guide: Ensure Hygiene & Effectiveness
1. Wash your CPAP mask every day.
* Remove the mask from your CPAP machine and disassemble it.
* Wash the mask and headgear in warm, soapy water.
* Rinse the mask thoroughly and allow it to air dry.
2. Clean your CPAP water tank once a week.
* Remove the water tank from your CPAP machine.
* Empty the water tank and rinse it with warm, soapy water.
* Use a soft cloth to clean the inside of the water tank.
* Rinse the water tank thoroughly and allow it to air dry.
3. Clean your CPAP humidifier chamber once a week.
* Remove the humidifier chamber from your CPAP machine.
* Empty the humidifier chamber and rinse it with warm, soapy water.
* Use a soft cloth to clean the inside of the humidifier chamber.
* Rinse the humidifier chamber thoroughly and allow it to air dry.
4. Clean your CPAP tubing once a week.
* Disconnect the tubing from your CPAP machine.
* Soak the tubing in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes.
* Use a soft cloth to clean the inside of the tubing.
* Rinse the tubing thoroughly and hang it to dry.
5. Clean your CPAP filters once a month.
* Remove the filters from your CPAP machine.
* Rinse the filters with warm water.
* Allow the filters to air dry.
6. Clean your CPAP machine every six months.
* Unplug your CPAP machine and disconnect all of the tubing and accessories.
* Use a soft cloth to clean the outside of the CPAP machine.
* Use a can of compressed air to clean the inside of the CPAP machine.
* Plug in your CPAP machine and reconnect all of the tubing and accessories.
