Soak a towel in cold water for five to 10 minutes, then place around the neck or across the forehead.
Massage two pressure points at the back of the neck, just below the base of the skull. The points are about 2 inches apart. Press for a couple of minutes to help blood flow and release endorphins that help fight the pain.
Take a warm shower or bath to ease tension.
Lie down in a dark room to avoid bright light.
Drink tomato juice, which is low in sugar but contains plenty of water and vitamin C.
