Greenpeace: Mission, History & Global Impact - Environmental Advocacy

Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, to protect and conserve the environment and to promote peace. It was founded in 1971 by a group of activists who sailed to Amchitka, Alaska, to protest against nuclear testing in the area. Greenpeace has offices in more than 40 countries and has over 3 million supporters worldwide.
