Improve Focus & Concentration: Proven Techniques & Strategies
Being able to focus on a task is an extremely important skill regardless of your occupation. Unfortunately, many people seem incapable of focusing even for a short period of time. Fortunately, like any other skill, focus can be learned. The process consists mostly of eliminating bad habits.
Instructions
Stop multi-tasking. This alone will improve your ability to focus. Multi-tasking involves frequently shifting mental contexts, something that studies have proven humans are bad at.
Eliminate distractions. If your phone is constantly going off, turn it off. If you live with other people, close the door to your workspace, to signal that you're busy.
Make your workspace comfortable and conducive to focus. It should be at a moderate temperature, clean and organized.
Learn time management skills. If you're constantly worrying about what you need to do next, that takes away from your ability to concentrate on what you're doing now. Even keeping a simple to do list can help immensely.
