Wellbutrin is an antidepressant medication with a variety of applications and potential complications. Wellbutrin side effects are usually tolerable, but the US Food and Drug Administration reports medical crises and deaths have occurred. Some side effects require immediate medical attention.-

Deadly allergic reactions occur in some Wellbutrin users. Manufacturer, GlaxoSmithKline, advises users to seek medical attention if hives, difficulty breathing, rash or chest pain occur.
Hallucinations

Wellbutrin therapy can cause psychosis. The Mayo Clinic advises patients to seek emergency medical care if they experience hallucinations.
Appetite

Loss of appetite, commonly resulting in weight loss, is associated with Wellbutrin. The National Institutes of Health recommends patients consult their physicians if weight loss is persistent.
Depression

Depression may worsen on Wellbutrin, possibly resulting in suicide. Daily Med reports patients younger than 24 years old are at highest risk.
