How to Improve Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorder is a brain disorder characterized by severe changes in mood, energy level and capability to perform everyday tasks. People suffering from bipolar disorder usually experience both very joyful moods, called manic episodes, and very depressed moods, called depressive episodes. Bipolar disorder can lead to problems at work or school, harm to relationships, self harm and suicide. However, bipolar disorder can be treated. Treatment usually includes both medication and psychotherapy.
Instructions
If you are considering self-harm or suicide, get help immediately. Call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
See a doctor to have your disorder properly diagnosed. Talk to your doctor about treatment options, and make sure you take your medication properly.
Maintain a regular routine. Eat meals at the same time every day, and go to bed and wake up at scheduled times. Make sure you're getting enough sleep.
Be patient and expect a gradual improvement in your symptoms, rather than an immediate cure.
