Nursing Assistant Salary: Hourly & Annual Pay (2020 Data)
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Nursing Assistants (NACs) made a median hourly wage of $13.69 in May 2020. The lowest 10% of NACs earned less than $10.10 per hour while the highest 10% earned more than $18.01 per hour.
The median annual wage for NACs was $28,320 in May 2020. The lowest 10% of NACs earned less than $21,110 while the highest 10% earned more than $37,320.
NACs who worked in hospitals earned the highest median hourly wage, at $15.00, followed by those who worked in nursing care facilities, at $14.22, and those who worked in home health care services, at $14.00.
The demand for NACs is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations over the next few years. As the population ages and the demand for long-term care increases, more NACs will be needed to provide care to patients.
