Original Medicare (Parts A and B) may cover your annual deductible if you join during your initial enrollment period (IEP). During your IEP, you receive premium-free Part A if you're age 65 or older and have worked and paid Medicare taxes long enough. Part B costs the same no matter when you sign up (except during a Special Enrollment Period (SEP)).
