What is the medical malpractice limitations for state of NC?

In North Carolina, the medical malpractice statute of limitations is three years from the date of the injury or the date the patient discovers or should have discovered the injury, whichever is later. There are some exceptions to this rule, such as for minors and mentally incapacitated individuals.
