NY Medical Claim Submission Deadlines: 90-Day Rule & Exceptions
In New York, medical providers have 90 days from the date of service to submit a claim to your insurance company. If the claim is not submitted within this timeframe, the insurance company may deny payment.
There are a few exceptions to this rule. For example, if you are covered by a self-insured employer plan, the claim may be subject to different deadlines. Additionally, some insurance companies may allow you to submit claims up to 120 days from the date of service if you provide a reasonable explanation for the delay.
If you have any questions about your insurance claim, it is important to contact your insurance company directly.
