Virginia Long-Term Medicaid: Eligibility, Application & Benefits
Long-term Medicaid helps many Virginia residents with low incomes pay for health care, including children, the elderly, the disabled, pregnant women and parents of young children. Medicaid covers a number of medical services, including hospitalization, visits to doctors or clinics, prenatal care, mental health care, hospice services, some dental care and some prescription drugs. The Virginia Department of Social Services administers the long-term Medicaid program in the state of Virginia.Things You'll Need

Complete the application. If you require assistance completing the application, ask for help at the Department of Social Services office in the county where you live. The staff will assist you as needed.
Take your completed application back to the Department of Social Services office in the county in which you live.
Provide any requested documents, like proof of identity, proof of residency, proof of income and proof of any resources such as property you own or bank accounts you have.
