Doctors Without Borders: History and Founding - A Humanitarian Overview

Doctors Without Borders (also known as Médecins Sans Frontières or MSF) was founded on 22 December 1971 by a group of French doctors and journalists who had become frustrated by the lack of medical assistance for victims of war and natural disasters. The organization was initially inspired by the Biafran War in Nigeria and the Vietnam War.
