Why should you not lift a service user manually?
Lifting a service user manually can be dangerous for both the service user and the care provider. Manual lifting can put strain on the care provider's back and other muscles, increasing the risk of injury.Additionally, manual lifting can cause injury to the service user if the care provider does not have the proper training and experience.
For these reasons, it is always best to use mechanical equipment, such as a Hoyer lift, when lifting a service user.
