Global Doctor Count & Distribution: A 2019 Overview

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), there were an estimated 10.4 million doctors in the world in 2019. However, this number is not evenly distributed across the globe, with some countries having a much higher density of doctors than others. For example, Monaco has the highest number of doctors per capita, with 62.5 doctors per 10,000 people, while Haiti has the lowest, with only 0.25 doctors per 10,000 people.
