St. Jude Children's Research Hospital: Religious Affiliation & Mission

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is not affiliated with any particular religion. It is a non-denominational, non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures and saving children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital was founded in 1962 by Danny Thomas, a Lebanese-American entertainer who was inspired to create a hospital for children after the death of his own daughter, who died of leukemia at age four.
