How to Install Leg Riggings
Leg riggings are the attachments installed on the front of a wheelchair to support the patient's legs. Leg riggings are also called leg rests and can include footplates that allow the patient to rest his feet. They attach to the side frame assembly of the wheelchair with a hinge plate that fits over a hinge pin. Leg riggings can typically be installed without any special tools in just a few minutes.
Instructions
Position one of the leg rigging assemblies in front of the wheelchair with the foot plate facing inward, the rigging perpendicular to the side frame and the hinge plate parallel to the hinge pin.
Slide the hinge plate over the hinge pin to connect the leg rigging to the wheelchair.
Swing the leg rigging assembly out toward the front of the wheelchair to lock it into place.
Repeat steps to install the other leg rigging assembly on the opposite side of the wheelchair.
Fold down the foot plates on each leg rigging assembly.
