Hospital Bed Trapeze Bar Setup: A Guide for Patient & Caregiver Safety
Using a trapeze unit with a hospital bed allows a patient with mobility issues to raise and lower his upper torso. A trapeze unit also greatly reduces strain on the patient's caregivers because they will have to exert less effort to move a patient. Such units require some assembly.Things You'll Need
- A-frame
- 2 base assemblies
- Boom tube assembly
- Trapeze
Instructions
Insert a base assembly into the A-frame by pushing in the snap button on the base assembly. Slide up until the snap button locks into place in the hole of the A-frame.
Repeat Step 1 with the second base assembly.
Insert the mast of the boom tube assembly into the top of the A-frame. The boom tube assembly should be on the same side of the A-frame as the base assembly legs.
Turn the trapeze knob counterclockwise to loosen and then slide it to the end of the boom tube assembly.
Lock the trapeze into place by pushing down on the snap button on the end of the boom tube and moving the trapeze over it until the button snaps back into place.
Tighten the trapeze knob by turning it clockwise.
