Testing Ferno Battery Packs: A Simple Guide
Ferno is a company that manufactures industrial medical supplies such as lift chairs and hydrotherapy units. Since these machines run on motors they need fairly large 12-volt batteries to operate. You can test the health of these batteries with a voltmeter, which is available from most electronics stores. Test your battery to troubleshoot problems or to see if it's time for a replacement.Things You'll Need
- Voltmeter
Instructions
Turn on your voltmeter and use the front settings to set the unit to "V" which means the machine will read in volts.
Plug the included test lead into the port in the front of the voltmeter.
Run the end of the lead to the terminal on top of the Ferno battery and hold it on the terminal.
Wait for the display screen on the voltmeter to produce a reading. If the reading is around 12, the battery is healthy. If you have a fully charged Ferno battery with a low voltage reading, the battery is likely failing.
