Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) are a popular feature of many health insurance plans that allow you to pay for medical services with pretax money. You can even use your FSA account to purchase contacts, including online.Things You'll Need
- Flexible spending account
- Flexible spending card
Instructions
Many insurance companies provide members with FSA debit cards. These cards hold the balance of the money in your FSA and are used the same as a debit card. To use the FSA online, simply go to the site you want to purchase contacts from, then on the checkout page, enter your FSA number.
If you enter your FSA number on a website checkout page and it doesn't process correctly, call or email the website. They can usually take your FSA number by phone.
If you do not have an FSA debit card, you will need to pay for the contacts using a credit card. Then you must submit a reimbursement claim along with the receipt to your insurance company.
