How to Find Formulary Coverage
Health insurance companies vary widely in the type of prescription drugs they cover. The formulary is the list of drugs that a health insurance provider will cover as well as under what restrictions those drugs will be covered. For example, there may be restrictions on the frequency of the prescription or you might be required to accept a generic version of the drug. Luckily, there is an easy to use online tool that will help you determine your health insurance policy's formulary coverage.Things You'll Need
- Your health insurance card
- The names of the drugs you want to check
Instructions
Access the website Fingertip Formulary. On the home page under "Select Drug," select the first letter of the name of the drug you want to check coverage on.
Choose the name of the drug from the list that appears on the next page.
