How to Become a United Healthcare Provider
As a doctor, when you join a health insurance network you let your patients know that you accept their insurance, which makes procedures affordable for them. United Healthcare has an online application that streamlines the process of joining its provider network and accepting its insurance. You must have a tax ID number to register. Once you join, you can accept patients with United Healthcare coverage.
Instructions
Log on to United Healthcare Online website (see Resources).
Select "New User" at the upper right-hand corner of the page.
Enter your tax ID number without including dashes. When you&'ve finished, select "Search." If your business practice comes up, select it. If it doesn&'t, fill in the fields provided with your business information.
Enter your personal information, including your name, department, organization and address. Select "Continue." Create a user ID and password.
Review your information and select "Submit." You&'ll be contacted when your application has been processed.
