How to Get a Blood Test
Many states still require blood tests prior to issuing a marriage license. Companies often ask for blood and urine tests to rule out drug use. Routine blood tests are usually a part of an annual checkup. There are many places to get a blood test, but most require a written order from a physician.
Instructions
Visit the local branch of your state's health department for a blood test. This can be done at the request of the attending physician.
Have your blood drawn in your doctor's office and sent away to the lab.
Ask your doctor for a written order for blood tests and take it to an independent lab to be drawn.
Attend health fairs for certain types of free blood screenings. Many organizations offer free health screenings throughout the year. Contact your local government or adult education department for a list of times and locations.
Get your blood tested by a visiting nurse as a part of prescreening for certain types of insurance. Ask the insurance company for a copy of your test results.
Submit to blood and urine tests for drug screening as a part of the job application process. Many companies require their applicants to submit to blood testing prior to being offered a job. The company will provide you with a location and an order to have your blood drawn and tested.
