Elevators in Low-Rise Buildings: Are They Necessary?

It is not typical for buildings with five stories or less to have elevators. Buildings of that height are usually served by stairs only. Elevators are more commonly found in taller buildings where climbing multiple flights of stairs would be inconvenient or impractical.
