Compression-hose stockings, such as the T.E.D. brand made by Kendall, can be very difficult to get on. If you're working in a hospital or nursing-home setting, you can have many patients that are required to wear these hose. The hose may be only ankle high, or this very tight garment can go up the thigh, in which case putting it on requires some skill. A few tips can help.Things You'll Need
- Baby powder
Instructions
Apply baby powder to one foot and the corresponding lower leg of the person that you're putting the compression hose on. Rub in the baby powder so that there is just a light dusting of powder left on the foot and leg.
Turn one stocking inside out and add a light sprinkling of baby powder to them. Make sure to add the powder to what will be the inside of the stocking.
Work the toe area of the hose onto the person's toe. Take hold of the top of the hose and pulling it up the foot and leg. The powder allows the tight hose to slide easily up the leg.
Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the person's other leg and the other stocking.
