Can Rh factor of child differ from parents?
Yes, the Rh factor of a child can differ from that of their parents. This is because the Rh factor is determined by the inheritance of two genes, one from each parent. Each gene can be either positive or negative.
If both parents are Rh-positive, then the child will also be Rh-positive. If both parents are Rh-negative, then the child will also be Rh-negative. However, if one parent is Rh-positive and the other parent is Rh-negative, then the child can be either Rh-positive or Rh-negative.
In the case of Rh-positive and Rh-negative parents, the Rh factor of the child depends on the combination of genes that they inherit. If the child inherits one Rh-positive gene and one Rh-negative gene, then they will be Rh-positive. However, if the child inherits two Rh-negative genes, then they will be Rh-negative.
Therefore, it is possible for a child to have a different Rh factor than their parents.
