Pride Lift Chair Troubleshooting & Repair Tips
Pride produces many types of mobility products, including scooters, power chairs and lift chairs. Users who require assistance climbing stairs benefit from the use of a Pride lift chair. If you encounter a problem with your lift chair, apply a few troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve the problem. Do not attempt to make major repairs to your lift chair; modifications may void the warranty.
Instructions
Use a cotton swab to clean the toggle switch on the hand control. While cleaning, flip the switch back and forth to remove trapped dirt and debris. A sticky switch may prevent the chair from moving in both (up and down) directions.
Ensure all cables are connected properly. Make sure the external transformer is plugged directly into an electrical outlet. Ensure there is a secure connection between the circuit breaker box and the electrical outlet.
Check the circuit breaker box connected to the electrical outlet to ensure the outlet is receiving power. If the outlet is functional, then the problem may be related to a damaged or worn back-up battery. Replace the battery in the external transformer with a fresh 9 Volt battery.
