Understanding Heart Rate in Children: Normal Ranges & When to Worry
Normal heart rate
* Resting heart rate: 70-110 beats per minute (bpm)
* Target heart rate for moderate-intensity exercise: 130-150 bpm
* Target heart rate for vigorous-intensity exercise: 150-170 bpm
Abnormal heart rate
* Bradycardia: A resting heart rate below 60 bpm
* Tachycardia: A resting heart rate above 100 bpm
* Arrhythmia: An irregular heart rate or rhythm
