What are miniature people called?
The term often used for people who are unusually short is "little people". It describes those whose height may generally fall beneath that of the vast majority of the population due to conditions like dwarfism or proportionate dwarfism. It includes conditions like Achondroplasia, Diastrophic dysplasia, Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita, among others. It's generally viewed as more respectful and person-first language compared to words considered outdated or potentially offensive. While some still prefer specific terms relating to their specific condition, "little people" remains widely accepted terminology when referring to those significantly shorter than the average heights within their particular communities and environments.Pediatrics - Related Articles
