Menopause: Understanding the End of Menstrual Cycles
The normal end of menstrual function is called menopause. It is a natural process that occurs in women typically between the ages of 45 and 55. During menopause, the ovaries stop producing eggs, and the levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone decline. This can cause a variety of symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, irregular periods, vaginal dryness, and mood swings. Menopause is also associated with an increased risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer.Men's Health - Related Articles
